Life before Northumberland

Formerly education correspondent with The Sunday Times in London; I have also worked as a political producer with BBC 2's Newsnight and ITN's Channel 4 News. Started off my career on The Journal newspaper, based in Newcastle. I now work as a freelance journalist.

Three children - two boys (seven and five) and one girl (aged two).

Husband

Yes, I still have one.

What's so special about Northumberland?

Northumberland is a place of immense beauty and history.Sometimes you go somewhere and the sheer magnificence of the view will have you catch your breath. The people too are generous and warm and welcoming.

What would you miss most if you had to leave?

I would miss the new friends I have made, and the friends I haven't made yet but plan to.
